Due to the fact that we all have been living in a dystopian type of environment for the past 9 months, it is crucial to know when things will start to look up again. It has become a common sentiment that a lot of people have gone into some type of phase of fatigue because living under this type of environment is not normal for humankind at all. We are not used to this.

Yet, the New York Times has broken out that a new vaccine has broken out that is guaranteed 95% success:

“The Food and Drug Administration on Friday authorized the Covid-19 vaccine made by Moderna for emergency use, allowing the shipment of millions more doses across the nation and intensifying the debate over who will be next in line to get inoculated. The move will make Moderna’s vaccine the second to reach the American public, after the one by Pfizer and BioNTech, which was authorized just one week ago.”

This article explores what the latest information on the vaccine contains and remains as one to be consistently updated. It also does an excellent job in providing reliable sources such as Dr. Fauci, who happens to be the nation’s top infectious disease expert. Additionally, due to the fact that this specific article is one to be continuously update when called for it, it provides a lot of important and critical information, such as providing statistical and visual data so the reader can interpret what’s happening to the virus and why a vaccine is critical in controlling the virus, stopping the spread of it, and hopefully going into the right direction of leading society back to a normal way of living.

This article also does a great job in explaining how partisan vaccinations in general are for people based on their political alignments, discussing how Republicans are more likely to refuse to be vaccinated. It was then discussed that Mike Pence, Mitch McConell, and other what is assumed to be Republican party officials all very recently got vaccinated. This just goes to show the integrity of the journalist writing the article to prove a certain message without putting their own opinion or bias into it, which shows an important part of journalism and news writing — objectivity. You make the reader come to their own conclusion instead of telling them what to think.

Local 12 News further accentuated the idea of a Republican that has large influence on a portion of the nation by providing quotes from Pence himself ensuring those who follow him that the vaccine itself is safe to get and also his own personal sentiments on how he feels about the vaccine:

“We’re on track here in the U.S. to administer millions of doses to the American people in less than one year. I also believe that history will record that this week was the beginning of the end of the coronavirus pandemic.”

CNN even provided a video with insight on how Dr. Fauci himself feels about whether or not Trump should be vaccinated. It is known that Fauci is a reliable source considering he is credible, therefore by providing Fauci’s opinion is very important for the public to be aware of since he himself is an expert in diseases. In the video, he makes it clear that Trump getting vaccinated would be a “personal choice”, but that he recommends it highly. He even gave Pence praise for being vaccinated because it will provide the community more confidence in the vaccine. With this video in mind, it’s important that an expert such as Fauci discusses important topics such as these.

Furthermore, the Center for Disease and Control, which is the most credible source known to date in regards to COVID-19, presented the facts that only further fermented the sentiment that the vaccines that are being put out are safe and effective. This post also provides vital insight on how this vaccine from BioNTech is being closely monitored as well. By providing vital information, a reader can come to the conclusion that this source can be relied on to be true.
